Make The Valley Of Weeping A Place Of Springs
From Weeping To Springs Of Life!
Today I’d like to share some of my favorite passages from Psalms. I’ve read them repeatedly, and they’ve pulled me through hard times and brought me to a place of unspeakable glory and victory. God’s word works! Take these promises seriously, believe them, and put them into action!
Happy are those who live in your house,
ever singing your praise. Selah
Happy are those whose strength is in you,
in whose heart are the highways to Zion.
As they go through the valley of Baca
they make it a place of springs;
the early rain also covers it with pools.
They go from strength to strength;
the God of gods will be seen in Zion.
The word “Baca” here means “weeping.” Several translations including the YLT and Amplified say the “valley of weeping.” When you learn how to continually sing God’s praise, you will make the valley of weeping a place of springs. I’ve had times when I didn’t stop thanking and praising God all day long. Even with other people, I was quietly singing to the Lord. God’s goodness became so real to me that I could tangibly feel it all around, like a current of love going through my whole body. God’s glory lifted me out of pain and sorrow and made me feel like nothing was impossible.
From Strength To Strength Until Nothing Is Impossible!
If you feel weak, tired, and helpless, learn to find your strength in the Lord. If you learn to continually sing God’s praise, you will go from one degree of strength to another and nothing will be impossible for you. Psalm 18 describes it best:
It is you who light my lamp;
the Lord, my God, lights up my darkness.
By you I can crush a troop,
and by my God I can leap over a wall.
Psalm 89 also describes the same thing. Learn to exult the Lord’s name all day long, and continually extol his righteousness. Let your mouth always be full of his praise and thanksgiving. You will find a strength that goes beyond all natural ability. You will begin to live in heaven even though you are on earth.
Happy are the people who know the festal shout,
who walk, O Lord, in the light of your countenance;
they exult in your name all day long,
and extol your righteousness.
For you are the glory of their strength;
by your favor our horn is exalted.
Finally, here is a passage from Psalms 34. Make a decision that you are going to bless the Lord at all times. Decide that his praise will continually be in your mouth. Keep reminding yourself to praise and thank the Lord. Choose to continually fix the eyes of your heart on God’s glory and goodness.
I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul makes its boast in the Lord;
let the humble hear and be glad.
O magnify the Lord with me,
and let us exalt his name together.
I sought the Lord, and he answered me,
and delivered me from all my fears.
Look to him, and be radiant;
so your faces shall never be ashamed.
Do you believe that this is possible? It is. As you make your boast in the Lord, fear will lose its grip on you. Imagine a life 100% free from any fear. Imagine not being afraid of anything!
Proverbs 28:1 (NRSV) The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.
God wants your face to be radiant, shining with his glory. 2 Corinthians 3 tells us how Moses’ face shone with God’s glory. Yet Moses was under a covenant that has lost its glory in comparison with the far surpassing glory that we have access to! How much more should our faces be radiant with God’s glory? When they stoned Stephen (Acts 7) his face was shining, because he was beholding God’s glory. After my grandmother was taken to heaven in a vision and sat on Father God’s lap, we saw that her face was radiant. She looked 10 years younger. One of our greatest desires should be that our faces will become radiant so that people will see God’s glory shining when they look at us.
If God’s praise is continually in your mouth and you bless the Lord at all times, you will turn the valley of weeping into a place of springs. You will go from strength to strength until nothing is impossible for you. You will be delivered from all fear. And your face will become radiant so that when people see you, they will see heaven reflected in your face.

Bless The Lord, Oh My Soul!
As you watch this video, I think you will see that Kim Walker-Smith’s face becomes radiant with God’s goodness as she is thanking God. The first line of the song “Bless the Lord, oh my soul” is also the first line of Psalm 34. I pray that you also would learn to bless the Lord continually, and his praise would always be in your mouth until your face is shining with the goodness of God. I know that more than anything I want my face to reflect God’s goodness so that when others see me they would see Jesus.
